WEIGHED BUT WANTING!
He was a first class king of no mean reputation. In relation to kings of other nations he was the king of kings. Compared to the lords of other lands and territories; he was the lord of lords. To be the king of Babylon was to be the king of the world empire because Babylon was the world power in it’s own time. What the United States of America is to the present world was what Babylon was in the world of it’s time. Both in military and economic rankings, Babylon towered very high above every other nation in it’s time. Hence, the king of Babylon was a HEAVYWEIGHT KING among all other kings! The protocol and paraphernalia around his name, person and throne could just be described as HEAVY. By all standards in the balances of men, Beltshazzar the king of Babylon was a HEAVY WEIGHT! But before the Council of Heaven, his appraisal, assessment, evaluation and conclusion was DIFFERENT!
Daniel 5:25 And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.
Daniel 5:26 This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.
Daniel 5:27 TEKEL; Thou art WEIGHED in the balances, and art FOUND WANTING.
Although Belshazzar weighed heavily in the balances of men; when put and weighed in the heavenly balances, he was found wanting. That is, weightless!
NOTE: Not everything that is countable actually counts. A countable MILLIONS can actually WEIGH NOTHING!
Public fame and popularity without a private life of holiness and integrity is a wanting life. Miracle, signs and wonder that contradict the principles of the Word of God is only an acrobatic display. Your name can be on all social media platforms and bill boards but still wanting in the Book of life. A person or church denomination could be very popular among men and yet be unknown in Heaven.
Spreading and taking over physical territories may not translate to taking over spiritual lands and territories. “There are lands to conquer” isn’t talking about grounds but hearts of men to conquer. There are countless number of people on earth today who answer to the name “Christian”. But when it comes to saying NO to sin and unrighteousness, they weigh nothing. It’s why “Christians” are MANY BUT WEAK.
Jesus Christ established this truth:
St. Matthew 7:22-23
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and IN THY NAME DONE MANY WONDERFUL WORKS? And then will I profess unto them, I NEVER KNEW YOU: DEPART FROM ME, YE THAT WORK INIQUITY.
The apostle of Jesus Christ reechoe this truth concerning the church in Sardis
Revelation 3:1
And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that THOU HAST A NAME THAT THOU LIVEST, AND AND DEAD.
So it is evidently clear from the Scriptures that it is possible for a life to be heavy before men but lighter than a puff of air before God.
Dear reader, God has a weighing balance whose operation is not patterned after the workings of men but after His righteous standard. Every man or ministry that is not patterned after the Word of God will be found wanting on the day of judgement!
SIN IS A REDUCING FACTOR. SIN DEFLATES A LIFE. SIN MAKES A LIFE BECOME A SHADOW OF ITSELF. SIN MAKES A LIFE LIGHTER THAN VANITY IN HEAVENLY BALANCES.
You wanna be on the safer side, and be found weighty in God’s weighing balance? MAKE THE WORD OF GOD (and not mortal men) YOUR BENCHMARK FOR LIFE, HOME AND MINISTRY. FOR BY THE WORD, EVERY THOUGHT AND ACTION OF MEN SHALL BE JUDGED.
MAY YOU AND I NOT BE FOUND WANTING ON THE LAST DAY!
