“He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from Him; He was despised, and we esteemed Him not.” (Isaiah 53:3)
This verse of the Bible from Isaiah is a prophecy about Jesus. He suffered and was rejected while here on earth. There is a great chasm between God and man. In order to have peace with God, we need , first of all, to recognize that we are sinners and that our sins have separated us from Him. WE SIN WHEN WE ARE NOT WHAT GOD WANTS US TO BE AND DON’T DO WHAT HE WANTS US TO DO.
As hard as we might try, we will never reach God’s deal. We aren’t perfect. Nothing that we might do could ever bring us salvation. We can’t get to God through our own effort or merit.
But God loves us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to take our place and pay the debt that we could never pay. He was perfect, but He was despised. Isaiah 53:4-6 says, “Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
Jesus is the ONLY WAY TO GOD. He has brought us forgiveness. Because He rose from the grave, we know that we will too one day. We can live with God eternally.
God did this because He loves us. He wants us to have peace and Fellowship with Him. THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO MAKE PEACE WITH GOD.
