TAKE LIFE EASY!

TAKE LIFE EASY! RACHEL JACOB SPEAKS TO US…
One day years before, she had screamed “Give me children, or else I die” One day years later, *she died giving birth to a child!*
Let me start by way of prayer: May your inordinate desire not kill you eventually!
But if that prayer must be answered, you must be careful of an inordinate affections-the tendency to have something by all means.
Rachel’s attempts to earn the unearnable are a picture of a much greater error we can make today.
I must travel out by all means. I must marry her by all means. I must get that job by all means. I must be a millionaire by all means. I must have male children by all means. I must be popular by all means. I must get it before I clock so-so age by all means. I must get to that position by all means… desperation!
Rachel wanted children by all means and when she eventually got one we expect her to be at least satisfied. But she quickly named him Joseph, which means “May he add”. And she said, “May the Lord give me another son” Gen. 30:24.
More, more, more! Rachel was never completely happy with what she had. She got what she wanted. The child lived but Rachel died! She became a lasting monument to the disaster of discontentment.
Remember king Hezekiah also? He was so desperate to have a male child like an ignorant average African man. He got what he wanted but the aftermaths were woeful! Absalom also was a victim of inordinate affections. He wanted the throne by all means. He was actually pronounced king against divine agenda, but he never got to the throne.
Beloved, stay in the will of God. Move at His pace. Live one day at a time. And all that God gives you shall come to you.
 I call you blessed!
