“Only the truth that in life we have spoken; Only the seed that on earth we have sown; These shall pass onward when we are forgotten; Fruits of the harvest and what we have done. . . . Only remembered by what we have done”. These inspired words of Dr. Horatius Bonar of Edinburgh capture the theme of this memorial cum historical book titled “When I Remembered . . .” Every human being must justify the purpose for living and this is what particularly matters at the life terminus up to eternity. This is the legacy we pass on to the world after our departure and it is the determining factor to our eternal bliss or eternal damnation.

Brother Bolutife, a living witness of the last twenty years of the ministerial activities of Reverend S.K. Beckley, dexterously presents an analysis of the life and ministry of this great man of God, with amazing scriptural references. He begins philosophically with issues of birth, life and death that appeal to morals, ethics and piety before delving into amiable and imitable virtues of Rev. Beckley’s life and ministry. Writing with tremendous passion, detailed emotion-arousing reminiscences of the dead, the writer skillfully filters out great virtues worth emulating from a faithful and successful ministry – ranging from salvation, sacrificial service, prayer life, rightly division of the Word to caring, integrity and a ministry divinely approved with signs and wonders.
This exposition makes a great read for anyone who desires to know more about the life and ministry of Late Reverend Beckley; perfect and helpful for whosoever hungers to know more of God; and indispensable to pastors, ministers of the gospel, and believers aspiring to live victorious Christian and ministerial life. I read this small book and found out that it has the capacity to enhance life-changing reflections resulting out of serious self-examination, reactivation of a renewed relationship with God and increased hunger for the power and fullness of God.
