WHERE WILL YOU HIDE?

So it happened that one day I was standing by the road side to catch a bus to my destination just like many others by the road side. Then suddenly the heaven opened and a heavy rain began to pour. Immediately everybody scattered in different directions, looking for a temporary shelter to hide pending the time the rain would subside…

Then this question popped up quietly but forcefully in my spirit where I was also standing for shelter from the biting strokes of the heavy downpour: “Where Will You Hide In The Day Of God’s Judgment?” Before I tell you the response of my heart to that silent but salient question, let me draw your attention to something very important.

Do you know that a day is also coming when the Heavens will be opened and the rain of God’s divine and just judgment will fall upon humanity? A day is coming when God will pour out the wrath of indignation upon the inhabitants of the earth and His wrathful anger will take hold of them. In that day, the LORD will open His armoury and bring out the weapons of His indignation to judge the world of iniquity.

One day, an appointed day in the time table of God, He will judge the world in righteousness. Every hardened and impenitent sinner treasures up unto themselves wrath against THE DAY OF WRATH AND REVELATION OF THE RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT OF GOD (Romans 2:5). Sin and iniquity will not continue forever on this earth. God has appointed a DAY when He will render to every man according to their deeds. In that day, as said by the Holy Scriptures, “…the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost” (Job 11:20). “For when they say peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape” (1 Thes. 5:3). “…for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible, and who can abide it?” (Joel 2:11). “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness…Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them” (Romans 1:18, 21-30).

Friend, there is a great day coming! A great day coming by and by. A day when the saints and the sinners shall be parted right and left. A day when the sinner man shall hear the voice of the Judge of the whole heart saying, “Depart from me, ye workers of iniquities.” What a sad day indeed it would be for the unrepentant sinners! So then, my dear friend, WHERE WILL YOU HIDE in the day when the heavens will open to pour down the terrible judgment of God upon the whole earth? 
It was to this question my heart silently and confidently responded:

I’ve anchored in Jesus; the storm of life I’ll brave,
I’ve anchored in Jesus; I fear no wind or wave
I’ve anchored in Jesus; for He has power to save
I’ve anchored to the Rock of Ages.

Yes! I’ve anchored to the Rock of Ages! For you to be saved from the wrath to come, Jesus is the Answer! He is the One who delivered us from the wrath to come. He paid the death penalty of sin on the Cross at Calvary in order to deliver the sinful world from the temporal and eternal consequence of sin! He is the ONLY Way of escape out of the imminent and fearful judgment that will fall like rain upon the world of iniquities.

Therefore, it becomes very important and urgent that you come INTO Jesus today for a refuge against the day when the deluge of God’s awful judgment will be unleashed upon the perverse and corrupt generation.  You must believe on the Saviour so as to be accounted worthy to escape the sure and imminent judgment on that day. There is no other way of escape for anyone who chooses to neglect the so great a salvation provided by the vicarious death of Jesus Christ and His subsequent Resurrection.

Have you anchored in Jesus so you can be saved from the wrath to come? Have you placed your faith in His atoning Sacrifice have you believed on His Name for a strong tower in the day of wrath? Some things are important but not urgent. The safety of your soul is both an important and urgent matter because death can come anytime! Do you want to be saved from the wrath to come? Now say this prayer sincerely:

Jesus, O Thou Rock of Ages, I come to You today, cleft for me. I believe You died on the Cross and rose from the dead for my justification. I have come to hide myself in Thee against the day of the judgment to come. Hide me O Thou eternal Rock. Forgive me my sins and cleanse my conscience from the guilt of sin. Thank You because You are faithful and Just. Amen.

Glory to God your soul is redeemed! You are now saved from the wrath to come! But that is all there is to it. In order not to lose your security, you must continue in Christ and His Word. This then makes fellowship with God and people of like precious faith very important. Get a copy of the Bible and make it your daily companion. Take time to read the New Testament that tells the story of our salvation from the wrath to come. Look for a Bible-believing Church and start fellowshipping with them.
